ABOUT THE OAK HARBOR HIGH SCHOOL BAND DEPARTMENT

"The Pride of Oak Harbor"

The Oak Harbor Band Department is proud to be able to offer a quality instrumental experience to over 300 students on a yearly basis.  We believe offering a wide variety of musical experiences produces a well rounded musical education, with the concert bands residing at the very core of that education.

Middle School
Students begin their instrumental experience in the 6th grade.  The Middle School is home to the Oak Harbor 6th & 7th Grade Bands.

High School
The Oak Harbor High School Band Department expands upon the experience students gain at the middle school.  The 8th Grade Band is located in our high school and continues the musical advancement from the middle school. For our high school (9-12) students, we offer a high quality concert band, which participates in OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Event in Class B.  Our Marching Band performs for football games each fall, as well as at various other events such as festivals and parades.  The high school is also home to the Jazz Band, an elite musical group which explores the nuances of many styles of music, and performs at a variety of concerts and other events throughout the year.  Other instrumental groups and activities at the high school include Pep Band during the basketball season, Pit Orchestra during the spring for musical, and OMEA Solo & Ensemble participation.
